Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Blue Ridge Medical Center is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The Clinical LPN will provide clinical support to the patients assigned to the Pod as needed. Duties include performing as a member of the team and assisting in the administration and maintenance of an efficiently operated clinic. Primary responsibility will be care management, including managing a population of assigned patients with a focus on the execution of treatment plans and protocols. Other responsibilities include reviewing patient charts to analyze data and develop a plan of care consistent with patient health status; assessing the level of care that will be needed for patient visit prior to patient appointment; documenting all patient care provided in patients’ electronic medical health record; communicating test results with patients; assisting with patient triage to assess patient needs; and performing other necessary duties as assigned by the Nurse Care Manager to meet the goal of providing quality healthcare services. Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing with current LPN licensure in VA and active CPR certification with 1-2 years of experience providing nursing services in a clinical setting as an LPN or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidates must have excellent communication and computer skills with proficiency using an electronic health records system. The ability to speak fluently in Spanish is a plus.

Director of Information Technology (DIT)

The Director of Information Technology (DIT) is responsible for troubleshooting and coordinating Blue Ridge Medical Center hardware and software needs with software providers and with IT consultants and for responding to technology-related issues and problems that arise in the conduct of Blue Ridge Medical Center activities.  The Director oversees the collection and analysis of data.  This position also includes membership on the Blue Ridge Medical Center Safety Committee and shared responsibility for the physical security and safety of all Blue Ridge Medical Center facilities.  Essential duties include overseeing the operation of the IT Department and implementation of all technology within the Center; maintaining servers, network, and support systems served on-site at the Center and those served from the Cloud; and coordinating the tailoring of EHRs to meet the needs of BRMC as expressed by BRMC administration.  Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or higher with a minimum five years of experience in a managerial role and five years of  experience in Information Technology field with experience in networking, hardware infrastructure and software support.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)

Blue Ridge Medical Center is seeking candidates for the position of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).  The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works on a full-time basis for BRMC, including provision of behavioral health care, education/teaching, and related administrative duties. As a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, the provider will devote his/her professional services to the benefit of the BRMC and will seek to incorporate all his/her clinical activities into the practice of the BRMC.  The provider and BRMC will negotiate any agreement for clinical practice outside of the BRMC, providing such practice does not interfere with provider's obligations to the Center.  Under medical direction, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner performs specialized duties at Blue Ridge Medical Center or in home settings, performs mental health assessments, manages the care of patients within the field of psychiatric mental health, and provides health education to these patients specific to their needs.  Applicants must possess a valid Virginia license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with at least one year of experience.  Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner experience with children and adolescents and Spanish speaking are a plus.

Registered Dietitian

Blue Ridge Medical Center is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Registered Dietitian. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing nutritional care to patients that may include nutrition assessment and care plan development and ongoing nutrition counseling and diet education according to BRMC’s policies and procedures. The Registered Dietitian organizes their work and sets priorities to plan programs to meet the nutrition and patient care needs of the population they serve. They work collaboratively with clinical staff to identify nutrition priorities, develop outreach activities, and complete nutrition program planning. The Registered Dietitian will assure that all documentation as it relates to the patient’s nutritional status is complete and accurate and will establish and maintain effective multidisciplinary relationships to provide an integrated approach to patient care. BA/BS in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or related field and a minimum of one year professional work experience in clinical nutrition as a Registered Dietitian is required.  Qualified candidates must hold a Registered Dietitian License by the American Dietetic Association. Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) and program management/leadership experience is preferred.

Certified Medical Assistant

Blue Ridge Medical Center is looking for Certified Medical Assistants or Registered Medical Assistants for a number of full-time positions we have available. We are seeking candidates with experience, preferably 1-2 years in either a family practice or internal medicine setting. As a Medical Assistant you must be able to perform the following tasks: rooming patients, taking vitals and patient history, assisting in office procedures, maintaining a sterile work environment, and performing duties with excellent customer service skills. Qualified candidates must be outgoing, personable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. BLS certification and current certification or registration through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or another equivalent organization required. Must have excellent communication skills, computer skills and proficiency in using an electronic health records system for charting, scheduling and communication. Ability to speak fluently in Spanish a plus.

Behavioral Health Case Manager

Blue Ridge Medical Center is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Behavioral Health Case Manager. The Case Manager is responsible for providing case management services to individuals of all ages who are at risk of developing/or have chronic disease, mental health, and/or substance abuse issues. Services include developing plans for access to services, acting as a liaison with client, families, programs, and service providers; ongoing monitoring of client service needs; advocating; and consulting/educating clients, families and community.  Minimum qualifications include certification as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) as set forth by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services; Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Related Field) from an accredited college/university or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; and minimum of 2 years of related experience required. Candidates must possess a combination of mental health and substance abuse work experience or relevant education, which indicates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Peer Support Specialist

Blue Ridge Medical Center is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Peer Support Specialist. The Peer Support Specialist is responsible for the engagement and linking of individuals with substance use disorders prior to, during and after treatment and providing recovery support services to reduce the incidence of relapse. The goal of this position is to extend the reach of services beyond the clinical setting into the everyday environment of those seeking to achieve or sustain recovery from substance use disorders and mental illness.  Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent combination of training and life experience; sustained substance use and/or co-occurring recovery for a minimum of two years (recovery capital, prior recovery experience considered); knowledge of treatment and recovery resources for co-occurring substance use and mental health issues; knowledge of community resources; and eligible to certify in Virginia as Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS).

Clinical Dental Assistant

Blue Ridge Medical Center/Blue Ridge Dental Center is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Clinical Dental Assistant. The Clinical Dental Assistant provides support to the dental front office and is responsible for assisting the professional dental staff with oral health services. The Clinical Dental Assistant is expected to deliver quality and compassionate care to every patient while ensuring adherence to all dental office policies and procedures.  Candidates should be able to multi-task and work effectively in a team-oriented environment. The Clinical Dental Assistant should possess strong verbal and written communications skills to communicate effectively and clearly with people of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
 
Essential duties include but are not limited to building good rapport with patients to assure patients and responsible parties have a pleasant experience before, during, and after dental treatment; educating patients with oral hygiene instructions; maintaining and sterilizing dental instruments, equipment, and operatories; providing clinical support to dental provider as needed during procedures including obtaining dental x-rays as instructed and documenting patient information, treatment plan, and procedures. The Clinical Dental Assistant will also be cross-trained and readily available to perform as back up for the Front Office Dental Assistant. The ability to speak Spanish fluently is a plus.
