Welcome to Blue Ridge Medical Center, where "Caring for our community" is not
just a tagline, but an everyday reality.

In an effort to meet the growing needs of area residents, the center is
expanding this year to provide new services and a much needed larger facility
Top of the line promary and preventive care is our daily objective and is
paramount to successfully addressing our mission

"to provide quality health care to all people in Nelson County
and neighboring communities; and to improve their general health
and wellbeing through prevention, education, and treatment."

In 2012 in our new state of the art medical facility, you can expect
Blue Ridge Medical Center to introduce two new pediatricians, finally
allowing parents in Amherst and Nelson County to access this primary
care specialty close to home. The new building has lobby space and exam
rooms designed especially for children. We have, for the first time, a
retail space in our pharmacy that provides over-the-counter medications
and supplies for our patients. Telemedicine will be available in one
of our larger exam rooms to allow access to specialty care on site to
save travel and parking inconveniences.

The move to our new facility also allows us to make a long-time
dream a reality----the addition of dental care to the Blue Ridge Medical
Center scope of service.As soon as we vacate the building we
have occupied trhough various expansions since 1985, we will rebuild
it to accommodate a six-operatory dental facility. This newly
constructed building will also allow our Rural Health Outreach Program
to move back to campus and make coordication of services much easier
and more convenient for our patients. In addition we will have a
teaching kitchen for nutrition education and demonstrations by RHOP
nurse educators and other experts we bring in for our Diabetes
Self-Management Groups, and a conference and board room that will
seat up to 70.

Blue Ridge Medical Center staff and board members collaborated with
community members and the County of Nelson to bring a new, high
quality health care facility to our local communities. We welcome
everyone to make Blue Ridge Medical Center their medical home.
